Gerard “Jerry” Jalbert
Reverse Mortgage Loan Officer
Jerry is a Maine native having been born in Caribou when his father was finishing 20 years in the United States Military at Limestone Air Force Base. Jerry’s family soon moved to South Portland, along with his 2 OLDER sisters, and South Portland has been home ever since. After high school Jerry was drafted into the United States Military during the Vietnam War and after coming home Jerry was employed at a paper mill known at the time as the S.D Warren paper mill in Westbrook. During his years in the paper mill as a blue collar worker and union shop steward Jerry realized he could finish college and graduated with a B. S. in Accounting leading to taking and passing the CPA exam. Jerry soon moved into the finance industry working for a number of financial institutions including Norwest Bank, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, MetLife and now works for Reliant Mortgage in Portland Maine as a Reverse Mortgage Loan Officer.
Jerry is married with 3 adult sons, 7 grandchildren, and 2 cats, Fluffy and Corona. Two of Jerry’s son’s live locally and his middle son is currently deployed to Afghanistan and has just celebrated his 14th year in the United States Army Special Forces. Jerry enjoys cycling, camping, and hiking during the summer and downhill skiing during the winter. For the past 20 years Jerry has been a volunteer on several different City of South Portland boards and committees, presently Jerry is an elected official as a South Portland City Councilor.
